    Gun store question

I have a great condition glock 23,how much would a gun shop be willing to pay for it? and do you think I would be able to trade it in for a good revolver?
I know it depends on the shop but would they rip me off or not?

G23's are a dime a dozen, I would PPT that to maximize your $$$.
200$ is what you would get from a shop IMO.

The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

      +10,000

Gun shops are in business to sell guns, not to buy guns.
Nobody is going to make any money giving you $400 for a gun that sells for $500 new, no matter how "mint" it is.
Even a collector's piece... if it'll go for $20k at auction, you'll be doing very good to get $12k for it over the counter.

Spend some time watching Pawn Stars... and those guys are in the business of buying things!

Look for the cheapest sale price you can find on the G23. Figure dealer cost is around 75% of that.
Now your gun is used. How much do you think you're going to get for it? A dealer isn't going to pay you anywhere near dealer cost.

I would pay $350 from our shop on a used glock.

I took my HK USP 45 to a local gun shop to ask about trade in value. They said $200. We all know it'll fetch 3x that, but that's just how they do business. Makes me surprised that they have any used guns to sell actually!

Whatever you do dont sell it to a Pawn or Gun shop! They will only offer you bottom dollar. Sell on a forum or locally to get maximum dollar which is probably around $400-450 pending condition.

Why? there are plenty of people who have no idea how to sell a gun PPT so they go to a gun store to get rid of guns. Some people feel uncomfortable selling to strangers or do not know all the legalities

some people feel the same way about selling old cars Sometimes its more of a PITA than its worth so they trade it in. Less hassle that way than dealing with whiners losers and lowballers.

OP i would try to sell it yourself. look at what used rates are for your gun. you can price it slightly less than going rate to sell it faster but expect lowballing, flakes and whiners when doing a private party sale

Your best bet is to list it on on calguns marketplace and PPT at a gunshop. Usually both parties come out ahead.
