FFL receive firearm from non FFL?

Is it up to the FFL in CA if they will accept/receive a handgun shipped from a non-FFL holding out of state resident, or is that a CA law that they can/cannot? I ask because I was considering buying from someone out of state and they are not an FFL and wondered if they can FedEx/UPS the firearm to my FFL?

Your FFL may choose to not receive from private parties, but it is well within the law to do so.

*participation may vary by location. Not valid in California.

For them to ship to a cal ffl, they still have to have a cal coe, though.

A private individual must have a COE to ship to a CA FFL? What makes you think that?

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

You are mistaken. No COE required.

I thought any gun coming from out of state has to come with a coe.
