    I finally left too.

Boy, Nevada sure does make it easy on a guy to get a driver's license, register a car, apply for a 'Shall Issue' CCW, and drop off an ATF Form IV at the Washoe County Sheriff's Office. You can do it all on the same day within a few blocks.

Sorry, CA. Just fed up with you after all these years. Consider the divorce final.

People sure are friendly here. I'm really digging the interesting weather and the wide puffy-clouded skies. You really oughtta see the deep red sunsets over the top of the Sierra range. The night skies away from the direction of the downtown casino light pollution allows you to see vast nebulae and the Orion arm of the Milky Way. What a place for meteor shower viewing.

Yessir, I think I got all I need in Reno: Beautiful Lake Tahoe 25 mins away, a good IT job that pays the same as I got in Silicon Valley, perfectly legal ready pistol carry in a vehicle, Bed Bath and Beyond, Crate and Barrel, pretty acceptable sushi, ClassIII/SBR/SBS/AOW and suppressors, Barnes & Noble, Costco, zero-wait long gun and instant-check pistol transfers, Jimboy's Tacos, 'The Big Reno Show' five minutes away, major headliner concerts, 18 ski resorts within an hour's drive, 19 golf courses, an international airport, $450k "McMansions" in gated communities, the chaparral pines of the High Sierras literally in my backyard, no state income tax, wild horses in the hills, and desolate desert playas outside of town to bring the rattleguns and tracer ammo.

And to CA DOJ BOF, I say: Oh, the stuff I had you neeeever knew about.

Gotta make room for the foreigners. I've been trying to figure a way to have two houses and a dual residence setup, myself.

But what are you going to do for smog, traffic, rude drivers, polluted beaches, urban slobber, petroleum byproducts in your drinking water and state income taxes? LOL! Enjoy your new surroundings! In ten years the only open space left between Los Angeles and Reno will be the freeway dividers and channelized drainages.

Heheh. That's what YOU think. We're already constructing plans to rig the mountain roads to blow like the Swiss National Defence Force can do in case they're invaded.

I've met people from Truckee who can barely stand the winters and they're only 35 minutes away from here over the state line. I think they have to have a hole in their heads to be so close to NV and still live in CA. They must really really need to have that pine sap smell in their nostrils 24/7/365, or something.

Congrats on your new home. Glad you are enjoying the free world.

Check out some BLM places to shoot around there and plan a Cal Guns shoot for you and the guys still behind enemy lines. That would be cool.

You could also get in the magazine parts business for extra money.

            Ya forgot the Bunny Ranch

I'm heading up to Tahoe next week. Any leads on fun gunshops to visit & drool & C&R firearms in Reno & Carson City? You can PM me. I used to live in Stateline 14 years ago. 24 hour Kmart & Wally World were the most exciting thing back then.

              Welcome!

              Where abouts are you living?

Check out the NVHTF over at ARFCOM. That is where most of us tend to gather.

                    Congratulations.

Be ever aware that folks will try to move in - maybe not just west of Reno but elswhere - and try to change your way of life. Why the heck people move from a place they don't like to a place that's better - and then proceed to try & turn it into the place they just left - is beyond me. But I've seen the Massachusetts residents do it to southern NH and recently the CA folks do it to southern OR. In OR they've come to absolutely hate seeing any CA people up there.

The good states should have residency tests for any new arrivals - issue temp visas until they get their official OK to stay!

Congrats! After running a biz here in LA for the last 14 years, I've definitely had thoughts about moving to a more biz friendly environ.

Welcome to NV Pvt. Cowboy. I got here 6 years ago from CA and live on three acres in Wellington. A 10 min. ride from my house gets me to a open land shooting area. If I had the bucks I would buy the full auto UZI my local gun shop has for sale. Next month a Big gun show coming to Reno with lots of guns listed on CA's ban list but no beef jerky.

We need more gun owners to fight the Las Vegas liberals who keep Senator Harry Reid in power.
