An argument began, and when the deputies identified themselves, the three men walked off, officials said. But one of the men returned with a knife and allegedly stabbed a deputy in the stomach.

Wow! How dumb do you have to be to try and stab an off-duty LEO when you KNOW he is an LEO and armed? There should be additional charges for being extra dumb.
