I have refinished all my mosin nagants. Your gun. In case you missed the post's in the C&R section about bad Mosin, I copied and pasted my response to the die hards.

It was mentioned that the Mosin Nagant was used to beat back the Nazi Menace. You forgot to mention, that before that they were allied with Germany. Germany and Russia defeated Poland and split it up.
So......the Mosin Nagant rifle was also used to help defeat a rather defenseless country with the help of the menace. It was also used to murder hundred's of thousands of their fellow countrymen. There was nothing noble about the weapon or the users. It was the best they had, heck, while other countries were upgrading their small arms, the Communist block was busy handing out the Mosin Nagant. It is a simple, hardy weapon with a hard hitting round. I like the gun, I own 5, but the stock isn't made from the cross, Jesus hung on, and the metal parts weren't forged from the nails driven through his wrists, or hands. It is a gun, cherished by the owner just as it is or groomed to his taste.

          Thanks John =)

truth be told, I freaking LOVE my Mosin. It's accurate and powerful and doesn't look like **** anymore.

I felt bad for refinishing it at first, but then I looked at the "before" picture and felt better for doing it.

Next time I'll be using a higher quality shellac though. 4 coats and the finish got a little rough on the barrel shroud after 100 rounds. Damn rifle gets HOT!

Does my Mossberg 500 with pistol grip and heat shield belong here?

That's a matter of opinion. I don't see the appeal in making milsurps into Remchesterbys.

Not a single person in the crowd is rational or reachable because the parade's for gay folks and it's in SF.
