what kind of experience did you have with this sight? is it better than the normal aperture? any info would be great, i'm torn between the two. i like the DOA when i saw it at the local gun shop, but i've never shot with it.

The aperture is larger than their normal folding sight. It is great for quick acquisition and close quarter stuff. However, to be accurate at stuff 50 yards+ it isn't the best.
I don't like the alternate, "precision" aperture. Instead of a smaller diamond, it is two claws that you use center the front sight between. The claws are small and come to a sharp point, so while focusing on the front sight I find it very difficult to maintain proper sight alignment.
If I was going to do it again, I would go with the normal version. It is proven, and you can still be quick or accurate.
The sight is typical troy quality, i.e. really good. Solid lock up, and holds a zero.Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? -
