A few decades ago, Super Vel was one of the hollow points available. Recent designs have since out-performed it. Exploding? I don't think so, but I could be wrong.

I believe that should be expanding, not exploding---anyway, all Super Vel ammo is in the collector category now.

45 acp doesn't really have the velocity to explode. Expand yes, but not explode.

Years ago I had a Black Talon bounce back out of the mud next to a creek. It bounced back about five inches and just lay there. Plugged with mud and very slightly enlarged, didn't open up and go all Edward Scissorhands or anything.

Modern hollowpoints work very well, save the antiques for the curio shelf.

I used Super Vels back in the 70's, working undercover.
