      I love a story with a happy ending! My mom always wants to go shooting when I'm in town and likes gun stores almost as much as Nordstroms . Thinking of SSE'ing a M&P45C- one for her once I move out.

          My dad bought my son a rifle, a Browning .22 lever action, when he was 14 months old. My mom & my wife were a little annoyed, but knowing my dad, they just went with it. He then bought another rifle just in case I had another child. My dad passed away two months after buying the second rifle, a Browning .22 semi-auto. Two years later, I had another son. The boys are now 27 and 23, and they cherish those rifles. Both rifles look brand new. I am now doing the same thing for my grandkids.
          Great story, glad you shared.

            I know right? Makes me want to call my dad......thanks alot!! I have several of the guns that I shot when I was a kid. (dad's still living) I've been taking my 10 year old shooting since he was about 7 or 8, and just took my 7 year old for his first shoot the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. They both shot for their first times, the same Ruger single six that was my first. It will also be the first that my daughter will shoot....soon, she's 4, I may not be able to wait until she's 8.

              Never got a chance with my father. What I didn't get to accomplish with my dad in my 37 years of existence, I have already done with my 4 year old son. He's hooked! Cherish these times they are the best.

                I took my 7 year old grandson shooting today. He put about a hundred rounds downrange with his Crickett rifle.

                Paying it forward every chance I get.

                  Then a two months later we were at P2K in El Cajon, he looked at the counter and saw a nice Winchester 94 on consignment. Seemed interested in it so I called a buddy who has one to see if he'd let my Dad try it out. My friend said sure and that he wasn't doing anyhing so he could be there in fifteen minutes to give him a go on it. I hang up and look over, my Dad is starting the DROS on the 94 . . .

                  This month I just finished building an AR. We took it up to some property where we have an open invite to shoot. He shot 20 rounds and decided it was very nice. I get a call from him yesterday;

                  "Hey son, I'm at Parallax Tactical, what kind of lower do you have?"
                  " It's a Spike's Tactical."
                  "Oh well they're outta those so I'm going to get this Aero Precision."
                  "Oh, okay dad."

                  Today I helped him order an upper, stock and LPK.

                  This is my confession, I created a monster and I'm sorry.
                  Good Son!
