    QUICK....AIM has SA 308 for $49.99

Not sure this is a dupe...but I'm posting anyways.

It's still too expensive for my blood, I'm sticking with 7.62x54 and 22lr right now, but for you guys looking for 308

Thanks for the heads' up. I ordered a case, I wish it could have been a pallet.

      Who is AIM!

      Links, I demand links!
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.

        What's the shipping charge?

        Nevermind - I figured it out. Here's a breakdown

        1 $14 45.67 per round
        2 $20 42.82
        3 $26 41.86
        4 $32 41.39
        5 $38 41.10
        6 $43 40.79
        7 $45!!! 40.27
        8 $64???? WTF???? 41.39
        9 $72 41.39
        10 $76 41.10

And then I got bored with my little experiment. Gonna order some more ammo.

a line graph would be neat but I'm really supposed to be working right now....

If it's NATO, why doesn't it carry the Nato circle and cross?

From what I understand the NATO cross within the circle was LAKE CITY ammo.

I'm sure someone will correct me if im wrong.

                Guess it would be me

If you meets the standard it can be accepted as 7.62x51 NATO. This standard is more complex because you can made choice's you can use boxer or berdan primers, GM or GMCS or CNCS for the jacked, and still meet the standard. In fact every factory used it's own powder and primer composition and still meet's the standard. I collect this kaliber, have few thousend differend one's many do not meet NATO standard but a lot does with big differences. Wishes, Jan

This guy pretty much sums the "NATO ammo" deal up in a nutshell,... "Advertisements for "NATO-type ammunition" are now quite common, though the ads are misleading as the ammunition does not meet NATO specifications. Any cartridge that does not have the cross and circle (+) in its head stamp is not NATO approved, no matter what the ads say. Real NATO ammunition must be manufactured under NATO surveillance and be certified to meet strict requirements for velocity, chamber and port pressure, barrel time, temperature stability, barrel erosion, waterproofing and other characteristics. Furthermore, NATO ammunition must be produced by a specified facility in a NATO country. Ammunition made by surrogate nations cannot carry the NATO symbol or interchangeability code. An item often overlooked is that M193 Ball 5.56mm ammunition cannot be NATO approved, since the official NATO round is the SS109 (U.S. M855) cartridge, and only 7.62mm Ball ammunition with a 146 to 148 grain boat tailed bullet, such as
the U.S. M80 Ball or Canadian C21, could be considered for NATO
certification. That does not mean there is anything wrong with available paramilitary ammunition. As thousands of shooters can attest, it is safe and serviceable.",... hope this helps.

The NATO circle cross is only used on ammo made by NATO member countries. As was mentioned above, non-NATO countries make 7.62x51 ammo to the same specs as NATO, but they don't put the circle cross on the headstamp since they are not members of NATO.

South African, Austrian, and Australian 7.62x51 ammos are all very good and and loaded to NATO specs, but those countries aren't in NATO so they don't have the circle cross on their headstamps.

AIM is calling the South African ammo "308 NATO", which is wrong on two counts, but we all know what they mean.

I recently ordered a case of Prvi Partizan M193 from AIM, and it went very well. My C&R on file with them was expired and they sent an email. I sent a scan of the new one (they only need a signed original for firearms), and they got the order out right away. Arrived quickly, looks good - haven't taken it out yet.

ETA: I just ordered a few cases of this, and I don't even have anything in .308 (yet). I decided I've been regretting not buying ammo so much lately I'll just pick up some bits of the good stuff when it shows, as a hedge. Heck, I can always resell it for close to what I paid for it, unless there's a huge increase in ammo availability that drives prices back down, which seems unlikely...
