    mailing bullets

Does anyone know if the post office will accept bullets for mailing by priority mail? I know they prohibit loaded ammunition, powder, and primers, but I only want to mail several boxes of lead and coated bullets. I know these will have to be shipped as ORM-D materials. If they don't accept bullets, I'll have to ship by UPS and pay twice as much for shipping.

I'm pretty sure my last order from Montana Gold came priority mail.

I think bullets are not even ORM-D. I've received bullets just thrown in a box and thrown on the USPS truck

Sure, I've bought (and shipped) 1000's of FMJ and lead bullets via USPS. Ever seen a 'small' Priority Mail box full of lead? 10 lbs shipped for $5...

Ammo and primed cases ship ORM-D
          Powder and primers ship hazmat.

            Yo Joe!

my point exactly. My mailman hates it whenever he sees those small heavy boxes waiting in my mailbox....!

Bullets or bras can be shipped and no need to label it as it is not loaded ammo. Just remember there is a 70lb limit and use strapping tape to be sure it stays together. I have shipped and recieved many boxes of bullets/brass thru the mail.
