    Kentucky Windage for Laser sights

So there I was, minding my own business, punching holes in targets with my 1911... when next to me a new shooter sends his target out and lights it up with a laser sighted pistol. I'm not a fan myself but I think they're cool and I was looking forward to seeing him punch out the center... strangly, had a 28 inch group. On a break, he asked if I wanted to shoot it, I accepted and put a nice group 10" left and 5" above center... I told him he needed to bore site his laser, but he said he just used kentucy windage to "hit the target"... speachless, I smiled and went back to my own target. No point in this thread, just amazed that someone would spend a grand on a pistol and sight but not use it correctly...and be happy in his ignorance.

With the sights? Under 2" at 7 meters...it was weird though... with laser on center and my rounds all hitting a different place...

Bad Barrel if its coming out randomly. I happen to have a C&R rifle that does the same thing, I swear the bullets are heading out the barrel sideways sometimes.

No, new gun.. problem was that he just attached laser sight without ever adjusting it so point of aim was point of impact..

              What laser sight?

Crimson Trace grips let you adjust for range and windage. The lasers that replace the guide rod are NOT adjustable and I avoid them.

So it grouped good with the sights but not with the laser? Or it grouped good with the laser too but just not in the right spot? The size of the group should be the same unless the laser was moving around.

I'm happy with my CT grips. I just adjusted them to the sights and it shot fine the first time out. I like to sight them in pretty far so when I am closer it might be off a little but it shouldn't be any further then the laser is from the barrel.

Or since he's Kentucky windaging it, it (the laser) wasn't aiming at the same place every time.
