    Marlin 336/Norinco Firearms

Was thinking picking up a 336 in 30-30. Are they any good? Also, What of Norinco Firearms? Such as the Mak-90? I keep hearing theyre banned from importation but I see them quite often, Norinco copies of the 1911, Rem 870, Etc.

Marlin makes a good firearm. Their lever actions are very good as is their bolt action rifles. I have no expierence with the other
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

The marlin 336 in 30-30 is about the finest lever action I've ever owned. It is my one and only hunting rifle. I've had mine for 28 years now and works like a dream. Accuracy is dead on. With the hornady levervelation ammo and a good scope added on and it becomes a 300 yard tac driver. I even dropped a 200 pound boar at 305 yards and a coyote at 610 yards. A lot of kentucky windage was used. It is a all around great gun. Ammo is affordable. It will shoot any type of it to. It is a sure bet and it won't hurt your wallet.

Marlins are excellent - I have three, an 1895 45-70 Guide Gun, an 1894C in .38spl, and an 366SS in 30-30. All shoot great and never any issues, very smooth action and well made. I plan on having the .38 slicked up for a future try at cowboy action shooting.

I had a Norinco 1911A1 clone years back....it worked 95% out of the box but lots of quality and finish issues to deal with before it was 100%. very rough machine work and the worst trigger feel ever.

You get what you pay for, save up a few more $$ and buy a quality piece, used if need be.

I picked up a 336 last year and it's become my current favorite gun. Well built, reasonably accurate, quick handling, and reliable. It's replaced my SKS as my "go to" rifle.

I went out and bought the XS ghost ring sights from Midway. On sale I think they were around $70. Excellent sight picture, easy install. Well worth the money.

I absolutely love my 336. It is definitely my go to gun. It was the AR-15 of its day. STOP POSTING ON HERE AND GO GET ONE.

The Marlin 336 in 30/30 is an all time classic. If someone made a list of the top 10 guns everyone must own... it would make the list.

It's the first rifle I ever bought.
