Got a taurus for x-mas

I got a taurus and took it to the range twice, the screw fell out from the grip, i tried to put it back in and noticed that the screw hole was stripped out. Just got off the phone with them, they told me to send it in and they would fix it. So my question is should i take it to a local gum smith, would it cost to much to ship to taurus, also might take longe to get back from taurus?

The cost for a gunsmith to re-thread (tap) the whole is probably cheaper than shipping the gun to Miami, FL.
I sent a gun to Taurus for a major repair several years ago. The round trip was about 6 weeks.

If you live close by i can tap the hole for you. It'll take me about two minutes. But you have to buy a new srew for it. If not just go to any gun smith, or do it yourself. Really easy to do. Or if you have other guns, and this one is a spare send it in.
