    Bass Pro Shop

Has anyone been through the shop yet? I wanted to go at Grand Opening but decided not to because of the crowd. I only live 10 minutes away from it so I figured I have plenty of time.

I took my street bike to the grand opening. Was easier to maneuver around traffic and find a parking spot.

I didn't see any dedicated motorcycle parking at BP, but the mall across the street does.

There was a line at the door at 7 AM this morning... It'll be crazy for a while, especially this Winter.

Just went last night, wasn't too crowded, although it was a bit rough trying to get up to the handgun cases.

It looks a lot bigger than the one in Vegas, which suprised me. Prices seem about the same as Turners. One thing Turners has going for them: I didn't see any centerfire semi-auto rifles there, only rimfire. Not even all that many of those. (Okay, yes, there were some really pretty BARs in the Fine Gun Room, but they don't count.) I wonder if they special order them, or if they have been zumboed.
I've never seen an American flag burned at a gun show.

I went there last night. I got overwhelmed! It was huge compared to what I was used to. First thing my buddy told me was, "Hey Richard, I think Turners is in trouble. They even got people greeting you like Wal-Mart. That's already a big step above Turners."

I spent a good 2+ hours in there. I went there just to look, ended up buying some ammo and a few accessories. Prices weren't too bad actually, their 9mm value packs are even CHEAPER than Wal-Mart at the moment by a dollar.

The Archery section was pretty small, all so-so brand names. No Hoyt, Bowtech, or Matthews bows. Best there were some PSE bows. But it was cool, you could go grab whatever bow you wanted and take it to the register to pay. But, it wouldn't be fitted to the archer, oh well. They had some crossbows too to fiddle with.

The small aquarium was cool to look at. I also saw some rock climbing, and racing simulations game, as well as a hunting game on the upper deck.

Tons of stuff. Their hunting section was the size of the Orange Turners store. Aisles and aisles of ammo. Much more refreshing vs. Turners few ammo boxes on display. The PD JHP ammo were all on display also. Remington Golden Sabers, Corbon, Winchester SXT etc...

The .223 ammo was a little high, mainly Remington UMC stuff, but they have the 200 rd. bulk pack for around $85.

Now the guns section. Nice display cases, I got to fondle a M&P compact as well as the fullsize M&P .45 (great gun btw!) Much of the long guns were sold, but they did have some centerfire rifles on display.

The fine gun room was pretty cool. They had a 4 shotgun set on display for close to a half mil. Lots of under the breath comments could be heard when people saw the price tag ("I wonder what house comes with these shotguns")

Overall pretty cool experience, definitely a positive experience. A little too crowded, but it was still a great time.

Anyways, yeah. I recommend checking it out if you've never been to a Bass Pro Shop.

I went there today. It's even bigger than the one in Vegas. Anyway, they must have added stuff, because the in the archery section I did see some Bowtech and Martin bows, though everything is geared more towards the hunter than the target shooters. Prices weren't bad. They did have a S&W 29 though. Pretty hard to find one in blue finish nowadays. It looks promising.

Nothing worse than people who camp a spot in front of a gun case no matter how hard you try to see in it or how obvious it is that they are in your way.

I went by there today mainly to check for reloading supplies. There weren't any bulk handgun bullets except over priced 100 packs. Primers were $30 a thousand. So much for reloading stuff from Bass . Mark
