    WHICH FLASHLIGHT?

I'm looking for a few opinions on weapon lights and have found 2 that won't break the bank. The light is going to be placed on six o'clock rail in front of my vertical grip for use in home defense situations (heaven forbid I have to use it). Its going on my AR since I don't have a shotgun. And it would look pretty goofy on my revolver. So the 2 are:

    Surefire X300 weapon light

    Insight M3X Tactical Illuminator

Anyone with experience with these 2 lights? The good, bad and the useful/useless? Feedback is greatly appreciated.

+1 on the fenix. I bought a couple to try out and havent been able to break them yet. One on an AR and the other on my Saiga.

I love my x300. Simple ambi operation. Momentary on if you push on the switch or flip either way for constant on on. I have fired around 500 rounds through 2 different pistols with it attached, and it still functions flawlessly and shows no signs of loosening on the rail (I am using it with the quick release attachment).

Most of the rounds fired have been on my M&P9, where the light protrudes past the end of the barrel, exposing it to muzzle blast. Aside from getting dirty and some minor discoloration the muzzle blast seems to have had no effect. About 350 of the rounds were fired with it on my M&P9 and the other 150 were with a .45, if that matters.

I highly recommend it. My only complaint would be when turning it off, it is easy to flip the switch past the off position and back on on the other side.

I have a couple Fenix flashlights that I use around the house and have been quite pleased with them. But the whole "Made in China" thing makes me leery of mounting one on a HD weapon.
The capitalist economic model is fundamentally flawed. It is not self sustaining, and can only maintain itself with constant growth. Obviously infinite growth is impossible, so the question is not whether the economy will collapse, but when.

Get your guns, ammo, and food while the stores still stock them. Prepare yourself now, because when the meltdown comes it will be too late.

I've never tried using one on a rifle, but I can say this has been a great and very bright light on my Glock 17C

Fenix TK11R on the AR has not failed to take any abuse I give it. Fenix TK10 on the M4 in Iraq took more abuse than it was designed for, and still runs like new.

Despite the China tag, Fenix is the hell of a deal in personal lighting. I've tossed any and all incandescent lights and have nothing but LEDs now (even converted most of the Maglights) with Fenix torches being my favorites. From the little bitty 30 lumen on the keychain, to the near 800 lumen ally blaster of my TK45.

Surefire is only now playing catch-up with the LED industry that has left them far behind.

Fenix TK11 and either a Viking Tactics or Safariland RLS mount should be fine.

Another vote for Fenix, but my preference is the Fenix T12. Love this torch.

Never saw a Surefire X300 on an AR before, hell of a pistol light though.
