Anyone use custom fitted ear plugs?

I was going to get fitted for some at a gun show recently, but I couldn't justify the $60. I shoot rifles. Anyone have any issues with them?

    Thanks

I use them and they are great. I have the baffled model and my next pair will be the non-baffled model so I can have both. I like them best with rifle shooting because it always seemed the bulbous ears got moved a bit as I sighted the rifle.

I had a pair that were great for about 1.5 years then they got uncomfortable. Your ears change over time so they won't last forever

One of the best shooting equipment purchases I ever made. Positively worth every penny.

I have a pair of the radians custom earplugs, that $10 kit. After I let 'em cure it seems like they shrank a little. Haven't taken 'em to the range yet, but they already don't do as good a job as they did during the molding process.

I bought the DYI kit from brownells and they work well under my muffs. Probably fine for outdoor pistol but I prefer to protect my hearing.

I got a pair made for me from the guy at the Cow Palace gun show. I only use them for Cowboy Action Shooting because of the Cowboy hat. I use electronic muffs for everything else. I do like them and they work good for stopping noise but they start to itch me after a couple of hours in. I just pull them out once in a while to rest my ear canals. Also you should wash then with soap and water often to keep them clean. If you do get a pair made, pick a dark color to keep them looking better longer....

I had a pair back in the 90's...actually I had two. The made them at a local gun range so I decided to invest the $50 into a pair. They never fit snugly and would fall out on their own. I went back to the range and they fit me for another pair and the results were the same. I know a lot of people like them but for me they didn't work.

Well, I guess I am going to be the guy that says he doesn't like 'em---two issues---sometimes they make my ears itch---perhaps the type of plastic does not agree with me---second, they tend to push ear wax WAY down into my ears---a real problem for me. Sooooooo, I guess I will continue to use foam plugs under my muffs.

I've had mine for many years. They last long and well made.
I use them in all shooting sports. IPSC, 3Gun, Hunting.

I bought a pair years ago at the Great Western Gun Show in Pomona. They worked great for years, but slowly the plugs lose their elasticity and get as hard as a rock. They actually started hurting when I wore them a long time. I had another pair made recently in Phoenix and found them extremely comfortable. So you do need to change them every couple of years. They are great out in the desert when ear muffs are too hot. When I shot full auto, they did not work very well and I should have worn both plugs and muffs.
