    Gunshop purchase question

So yesterday i went into a local gunshop here in Fresno to buy some .22 colibri bullets ( you know the quite ones) and i happen to see a real nice BHP on consignment for $550, so since ive been looking for one for some time now i bought it. The next day i called the FFL on base so he could fax over a copy of his license and the shop could ship the gun to Beale. Well i called today and the shop got the copy of the FFL from Beale but when i was talking to the lady on the phone she said my FFL didnt fax some DOJ letter? and she went on to say because he was a Cali dealer he had to be in some kind of DOJ centralized data base for FFL's? Since i never heard of this before i was wondering what the heck this lady was talking about? The last handgun i bought was in Feb. and i bought it from AIMsurplus and i when i faxed the FFL myself and was on the phone with the salesman at the same time he never mentioned any DOJ letter. Can any FFL's shed any light on this for me? Thanx

She probably wants a copy of his Centralized List Of Firearms Dealers certificate.

Yes she does. You are not an official gun dealer in CA without your CFD cover sheet. Just more BS to keep us busy. The rest of America just needs an FFL.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

Let us hope our weapons are never needed --but do not forget what the common people knew when they demanded the Bill of Rights: An armed citizenry is the first defense, the best defense, and the final defense against tyranny. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government -- and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws."

            Probably Fresno Firearms.
