    General Opinions About Dark Earth...

So I know the Dark Earth color pattern has become a big thing as far as homebrew AR builds is concerned. Same with the array of two-tone polymer body pistols out there. You even see the odd AK dressed up in Dark Earth furniture. My question is what do people think of it? What firearms models do you think the color looks best on/is most practical for your shooting needs, and conversely, what models do you think it just doesn't suit.

I personally have been toying with the idea of revamping my saiga conversion with a two-tone, Dark Earth on Black scheme but I'm still on the fence on how I feel about it.

Eh, personally dark earth and black schemes are not the most appealing.

Hahaha but I'm guessing if your room is tan then I don't see why you're not already on board with the DE coat

Out of multiple black rifles, I am almost done with my first DE AR build, just need a Hogue pistol grip to finish it.

Now I am thinking about converting another build to something else, other than black or DE (sorry no Hello Kitty Pink haha).
Do you know what happened 158 years ago this fall...back in 1850 ?

-California became a state, The people had no electricity, The state had no money, Almost everyone spoke Spanish, There were gunfights in the streets.
-So, basically, nothing has changed except the women had real breasts and the men didn't hold hands.

I love how guns have turned into a fashion statement.

To me I look at it the same way car guys like to make their vehicles presentable in the way they like them. Of course, the firearms serve an ultimate practical purpose, but the urge towards individualization is hard to overcome, and moreover, who says it should be overcome?

i don't mind it. it's the trend now just as OD was the trend when the US was in Vietnam. if we fight a war in the arctic, then winter white will be the trend. it's how it goes.

FDE is so 1991. Foliage green is the new FDE.

Seriously, it's good to have some color choices. For something different, have you checked out LaRue UDE?

I prefer plain old black rifles, maybe because I don't have the money to paint them urban camo

                        In regards to your Saiga...

For ARs and other rifles: meh whatever...

I'm not a fan, I don't like the way it looks and it will never be practical for me to have a dark earth colored gun. If it were practical, I'd have one. Until then, black, blue, and stainless are the only colors my guns will ever come in.
