I have some photos of actual shooting involves 223/5.56 caliber firearms. Unfortunately, it is on going investigations, and I cannot publish photos. I can tell you that the cartridge did what it supposed to be doing as far as terminal ballistics is concerned. As far as what I have seen, the type of bullets didn't really matter.

The 223 is under powered. Bullet fragmentation or disintigration IS not the same thing as energy.

I shot a coyote at about 40 yards with a 55gr SP and it tore it all up! I have also seen a friend put down a dog that had eaten glass and he got sprayed with brain and skull frag! the head was almost off!

Must have been a hell of a shot. Where did you kill this yote? What was the weapon? Did you take pictures as a trophy, because that's what I would have done

yeah there is a pic on my phone I live in Idyllwild CA I can legally hunt in my back yard! I used a Saiga .223 Coyotes are not really trophies. But anyways like I said it tore it up!

Shoot him and ask what he thinks about the 5.56. Underpowered for what? Ask the thousands of dead Vietnamese, Iraqi's etc how hard it hit them...
