    Gun Prices on the Decline?

It seems to me new guns are going up in price. I base that on a few that I coveted - it seemed the retailers including large Internet based "buds" type have increased some recently....one in particular I wanted.

Then as I watch the market place I see more and more bumps to the top with price reductions - on what seem to be decently priced guns. AR's falling to $700 \ $800 though many asking for more based on higher quality components or extras. I've noticed some ask too much, but in general over the last week it just seems as though many are trying almost desperately to find a buyer?

Economy sucks people need money to pay bills buy food gas up their car etc. FFLS are trying to stay afloat and so are private parties. Fighting zombies on the internet is fun with your hot rod AR but it doesn't put food on the table.

Let's see, as much as AR's are the golden standard for a civilian semi-auto rifle, the market is flooded with them. Also, manufacturers keep releasing bigger and badder toys with all the latest gizmos and tacticool whatevers. These new releases tend to attract demand and some people want to get rid of their older guns and get this new one.

I'm sure that a lot of Mini-14's are not being sold due to the fact that nearly everyone wants an AR. Now the market is oversaturated, and it is mostly the big name brands of AR's that retain most of their value, such as LWRC, Noveske, Daniel Defense, etc.

In the end, it is mostly the prices of lower end AR's and weapons that do not have as much rarity/value that end up taking the brunt of decreased prices.

But in the big picture, everyone knows how much of a anti-gun SOB Obama is...

CA's economy is going to lag any kind of recovery, our housing market in so many parts was hard hard hit. It just seemed to be a new phenomena to me as it seemed that gun prices \ values remained strong for some time. It could be a temporary pre tax thing too.....

Good points on the AR's, but I'm seeing in things like Kimber 911's, SW semi auto's and bolt action rifles as well.

I don't agree, Maybe the AR's but not the regular hand guns, Last month I was thinking about getting a berreta 92fs for 569 new. Had my eyes set on it, and when i went to go get it two weeks later the price jumped to 639. So i ended up getting another Sprinfield Xd and i'm lovin it.

In todays economy you have two classes of people, the ones that have money, and the ones that don't. We no longer have lower, middle, and upper class society. With so many jobs lost, and future cutbacks coming ,people are selling items to survive. It is a real shame to see America in the shape it is in today!

                Retail Up - Used Down?

I agree. In my original post I noted some retail prices are higher from the dealers; as is the case in your berrata I've noticed it big time in the Dan Wesson 45 1911 models, some S&W models and a few others.

It just seems like I come across more and more Market Place "bump to the top" posts with people showing no or little interest. Mossberge pump 12 gauge offered at 300 bucks retails for 589; RIA 45 ACP 450 then, 420, etc etc....its not just the AR's but they seem especially hard hit right now....if you are selling - I'm glad I don't have anything I want to sell.
