My grandparents passed a few years ago, and recently we sold their house. Well I get a little money from it and wanted to spend it on something that I can get to remember them by (they spent most of their life in AZ and loved the western stuff) so I thought a single action revolver would be perfect, and i would love to get it engraved. I dont know what the protocol is with that though or if people even do it? can anyone weight in?

It all depends on what quality of engraving you want on your gun. If you visit Perazzi shotgun website, you will be able to see what types of engraving is available from the master engravers. But, you will pay for the work dearly. There are some other engravers available in US with soem simple works.

Might want to talk to Clint Finley up here in Redding. I believe he used to do some SAA engraving for one of the gurus, John Kopek.
