The dollar is becoming more worthless every day. I'm sure that prices will vary from store to store. The closest Walmart to me is in Simi Valley. What store are you referring to? just curious.

100 rounds of steel cased russian .223 is still $21 + shipping at AIMsurplus as always.... just saying

I thought the steel cased was garbage? I was told to only shoot it out of POS firearms. Could I use it in my Mini-14?

It's been $39.96 (or so) for many many months. Prior to many months I do not know the price. Unfortunately they are always out of them!!

Steel cased ammo has some disadvantages, and usually isn't manufactured to the same consistency as american ammo, but it's not "garbage", and it's perfectly fine to shoot in AR's and Mini-14's.

I shoot it out of my mini-14 all the time, no problems so far.
