Where can you legally shoot outside in Humbodlt Co? Where is Riverbar?

You can shoot on most BLM land, State Forest and National Forest. Not to be confused with State Parks and National Parks.

Depending on where you are located within Humboldt County, your best bet would be either Six Rivers National Forest, Mendocino National Forest, or the Kings Range BLM.

Other folks will probably give you some ideas.

RJM - the riverbar that you've heard of is off 101 under Fernbridge.

        From Eureka:
-take 101 south to Ferndale/Ferbridge exit
-take a right when you get to highway 211 (at the creamery building)
-take your first left after you cross the bridge

From here you will have to park and walk probably - it's rarely accessible by vehicle, even 4wd. I haven't been there for a year probably though, so the river may have changed it up by now. Anyways, get down on the riverbar and head west about 200 yards and you'll see a bunch of places to post up.

I've shot there a few times and never had any problems. There's always other people around but it's a huge place so you don't have to worry about it being crowded. Sheriffs come by every now and again, I guess to make sure nobody's doing anything dangerous or illegal. So I don't think it's legal by the letter of the law, but the local law enforcement certainly don't care.

PS: Take an extra pack out with you for other people's waste, that place was trashed last time I was there.
