Only Kimbers you can buy have to be on the approved list:
only exceptions to the list are, LEO, interfamiliar transfer (mom/dad give it to you), or a Private Party Transfer -

Is your cousin related to the same grand parent or great grandparent? If so, he can pass it up the line to a G or GG parent and then down the line to a 1st cousin. All would be legal if the pass down to you is from a parent is within CA. Parent goes to CO or wherever, to get gun from their parent. Then does CA DOJ registration papers followed by do doing the papers. That is a round about documented trail.
Good luck - I suspect librarian can provide a well lain out perspective if this isn't clear enough.
Face it - we just cant get our hands on all the pistols we would like to have.
Maybe we cold all email Kimber and ask for the 9m to be placed on CA roster. Kimber needs to see a demand before Kimber would invest.
Best of fortune to you.sigpic

The short answer is no. It would have to come from a parent or grandparent. Not even brothers and sisters. But like stated in a previous post, he could gift it to a grandparent that you have in common if CO law allows it. Then the common grandparent could send it through an FFL to you. Intrafamaliar transfers are roster exempt but must be done through an FFL is coming from out of state.-jeremy

What you are describing is a staw purchase... the way it would have to work is a LEO buys the gun then decides he doesn't like it/want it, or pick a reason then PPT's the gun to you.
you can not buy a gun for another person to get around the rosterComment
