COLT IS RE-REALISING THE "MUSTANG" POCKETLITE. :) YA

Went to see Colt at Shot Show and saw a Colt Mustang. I asked why it was on display and they said they were Re-releasing it.

So happy now I don't have to pay Top dollar for an old one.

They are also bringing back the Python's,Cobra's,Detective's,etc. J/K I wish!

But will they make a Kali Approved model?
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

No kidding. Not only would it be possible to get a brand new one, but it would collapse the used market. $600 for a Python!

Buddy of mine has a mustang. One of the most disappointing guns I've ever fired.

I had a Mustang Stainless Pocketlite. It was a loose pistol. It always worked but accuracy was woefully inadequate. I sold it as soon as someone offered me stupid money for it. I have never regretted the decision. It has recently been replaced by a SIG P238. I havent fired the Sig yet so no comparison is available. I shot a friends P238 and it was quite accurate. The two that I have handled had MUCH closer tolerances than the Colt product.

Back when I was in the gun industry, the little .380 Colts were being released the first time---these were some of the most warrantied guns ever---loose, sloppy, poorly made and fitted (thanks UAW) pistols I ever handled. We stopped selling them (and the owner of the shop was a died-in-the-wool Colt man) when I picked up a full-size 380 and while checking it, turned it on its left side and racked the slide---the slide stop fell right out! A customer was standing near by and said "Its not supposed to do that!" I hope they do better this time!

Well, as to your comment in bold; it won't make it on the roster unless they upgrade it to new CA requirements.

Second, Colt is a little late to their own game and product; and just being "a Colt" doesn't cut it anymore. The original Pocketlites could not compare with the PPK from Walther in quality, reliability, and accuracy - and it looks like they are making the same mistake all over again. There are so many better small guns of that size from Kahr, Kimber, Springfield, SIG, even Ruger and KelTec, and on and on - and so many of those are the same sized gun, lighter, melted corners, but in 9mmX18. Unless they improve, upgrade and approve a few features, they will never have a market share (even outside of CA) in the face of many products on the market, but more so two NEW products from SIG and Kimber being released this year (among others).

What they SHOULD bring back is their Colt Pocket 9. I own a few PocketLites and Pocket 9s, and the Pocket 9 is a better gun for the intended purpose.
