    Costa Mesa Gun Show

I have never been before and one of my buddies wants to go. We are only looking for bulk ammo (7.62x39, 7.62x54r, .45, 9mm, 12ga) and my question is; is it worth it? Ammunitiontogo, ammoman, and surplusammo have some pretty good online deals. So when it's all said and done, is it worth the $10 for gas, $10 or so for a ticket, $5 for parking or would that be better spent on shipping? Curiosity may be the real deciding factor for us since we have never been. Thanks in advance.

I say go at least once. Youll find better prices online IMO

      it gets less expensive.

I've never heard of a 10 dollar ticket...expect to pay $14...and you can print a dollar off coupon here:

Parking is about $8 depending on the location.

If you've never been to a GUN SHOW by all means GO...it'
s a lot of fun. Expect the food/beer to be expensive.

      Eat before you go.

Basically a gun section of the swap meet. If going for bulk ammo I thinks it worth it. I paid $205 total for wolf 1000 7.62x39 at the last show. Gotta know your prices on items. There are alot of thread about the shows

I would hit up WalMart for FMJ ammo purchases. Cash and carry.... and a shopping cart to get it to your car!

As for military caliber/surplus stuff... I think the online dealers, even with shipping, are your best bet.

If you decide to go, get there early and parallel park on Arlington Dr (on the park side) to save a few bucks.

Dont do it if you are buying a lot of bulk ammo... save your back, not your dollars. Nothing worse than looking back on anything you do and discovering that you were penny wise and dollar dumb

There's plenty of free parking nearby.

Yeah if going bulk get a small cart or backpack
I carried a bunch last year. By the time I reached thenpaid parking my arms were numb. It's a longer walk then one thinks carrying 2k of 5.56 and few hundred of various handgun ammo

If my buddy and I do go, one of us would take a hike to the car and just come back to pick up the other, or something along those lines. I hear ya though. Just walking to my car out of wal-mart with a couple bulk packs of shotgun shells can be a pain.
