    Can magazines reproduce?

Now I've herd of people taking an old grandfathered mag, taking the spring and rebuilding it as a P-mag, I'm pretty sure on here the consensus is that its legal. But taking that a step further can magazines reproduce?
If you take an old mag, split it into its pieces, floor plate, body, spring and follower. Could you rebuild each piece as a rebuild mag? Making 1 mag into 4? If you can rebuild a spring into a new P-mag why not the follower and so on?

Wishful thinking or am I on to something?

Nope. You cannot end up with more mags than you originally had. I dont have the linky handy, but that is the gist of it.

this, IMO its my understand that you can only use rebuild kits to actually rebuild old parts on a pre ban magazine. If you replace a part and keep using the part, you didn't really replace it at all.
