    Brief question about OLL transfer

Husband builds OLL into fully built AR 15 (legally configured). Husband sells upper and stock, builds original OLL (which still has all the legal-keeping-it-so goodies on it) into a new completed AR, for his wife.

Does a DROS need to be done? Or even a PPT?

I gotget confused because technically long guns are not registered and DROS's are not kept after a certain period of time, IIRC.

husband to wife transfers do not need to use an FFL, it is a operation of law transfer. Because it is a long gun, nothing needs to be sent to CADOJ. IF it was a handun, you would need to report the transfer on the op-law form, cost $19.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Oops, yep, there it is. I forgot about the op-law and the form. Simple enough. No paperwork needed. And yes, she is legal to own it.
