Ever look back recently and realize some of the hype, or conspiracy/fud/lies/rumors, going on? Take these for example:
1) AB962. There was hope that it would be overturned at the last minute. But as that time was approaching fast, there were people who started to stock up on ammo or reloading supplies. I even bought a couple thousand rounds of ammo a few days before the actual decision, but at least I didn't pay any markup for it. Was this hype or a possible conspiracy towards firearms owners in CA?
2) Tucson Arizona. Yes that was a tragic event, but it also skyrocketed sales on high cap magazines and even with Glock handguns. If you had ever looked at high cap magazine prices in the past, all the way up until around mid-Jan, you will know that prices went up at least 25% or 50% more across the board with everyone. Could the Jared Loughner be looked at like a Lee Harvey Oswald? Maybe not, as I doubt there was any conspiracy going on there, but because of the event prices & availability on high cap magazines and even some Glock handguns had gone up, mainly due to a possible scare that they would be soon banned all across the US.
3) Saiga 12 and BATF. There was talk for a good few days that ATF was going to deem the Saiga 12 a destructive device. Even before their supposed announcement on 1/24, prices shot up everywhere with Saiga shotguns and the availability became very scarce unless you were willing to pay a premium for it. Now that everyone see's that this isn't going to happen, prices will probably start to settle down and go back to normal in the near future. But still, it was almost like another conspiracy or propaganda hype in order to boost sales.
