I am preparing to get my CCW and I plan on carrying my Glock, but was wondering if I should carry with one in the chamber or empty chamber. What does everybody else do?

I would never worry about a striker fired gun while it is in the holster. It's the holstering part that you just need to pay extra attention to. Make sure there isn't anything that can hang up on a trigger while you are holstering (like a t-shirt).Comment

I carry Glocks, and I always carry with one in the chamber. You simply cannot guarantee that you will have both hands available when it comes time to draw.--Patch

Carry a Glock 30 everyday with on in the chamber. Just make sure to train your self to keep that trigger finger indexed properly when re-holstering.It's the holstering part that you just need to pay extra attention to. Make sure there isn't anything that can hang up on a trigger while you are holstering (like a t-shirt).
Get a good holster, practice your dry firing and drawing AND reholstering and you should be fine./Chris

You can carry with an empty chamber until you are used to it being on you. Shouldn't take too long to get the confidence to have it chambered. Thats what I plan to do when I get my CCW.Comment

The Glock firing pin is NOT capable to fire unless the trigger is pulled. There is no reason NOT to carry a glock with one in the chamber. It was designed to have one in the chamber at all times. That is why you can drop one from 60 feet and it can not fire. The only way to get a glock to fire is to pull the trigger.

Sorry that is hard to read. Glock was certainly aware that there is an issue with safety that isn't encountered with DA/SA guns or guns with safeties.

If you are really worried about an AD/ND due to the trigger hanging up on something just use one of these, they cost about $15 and work really well.
