    Converted another seller on GB

I have been puttering around looking for factory mini-14 magazine kits, and found a guy in Oregon selling them for less than I can get them for through 44mag.com, or any of the other places that sell them to us. He had a "No sales to CA" and several other restricted states. But I contacted him, and explained about rebuild kits. He looked up the information on here and elsewhere online, and came back and said it wouldn't be a problem. He is charging an extra buck per mag to take them apart, which is on par with several others online. And he will be shipping them in two separate packages so that I don't receive a complete mag all at once. But he is doing that for no extra shipping. On a whole, it was worth the effort to be nice and explain how our mag kits work. I saved a couple of bucks per mag, and we now have another seller who will deal with us. I call that a win.

Oh, and for the record, his ID on GB is colt1911guy.

Even with the extra buck a kit, I still come out a few bucks ahead. Especially with shipping. Besides, I want to see how well these will work in my minis. I stocked up on tons of magazines for them back in the 90s, but Ruger didn't sell high cap mags to civilians at that point. So I have an assortment of magazines from different companies that range from passable to horrible. The minis have mostly been safe queens because I got sick of having to hold the magazine in place with my off hand just to get it to cycle reliably. Hopefully these will work as well as everybody says.

                Thanks for the good work!

I sent the seller a message saying if/when he gets CA legal rebuild kit auctions ready, he'll be getting an order from me.

I exchanged a few emails with the seller through GB, and he said he'd either start listing special repair kit auctions on GB or start selling here and would let me know. That was 1/27.

So I went looking for him; looks like he's here, and he's bumped his price:

found it on page 12 of private parts & accessories.

                    Still a good deal.

This is a MUCH better approach than simply saying "Boycott xxx vendor, because they don't sell to CA".

Thank you for helping all of us out.
