I need help with this question DOES ANYONE KNOW!!!

is it legal for someone that's in custody for a felony to sell or transfer their legally owned firearms before they are convicted and how to go about doing so, if a power of attorney is needed etc.

probably would be if to get it away and out of his name, i would think that would be a requirement, but how would he do it if in custody? did he do a digital video?

To the OP - If the person in trouble is you, I suggest you contact one of the fine lawyers connected to CGF -

I would think if you had been arrested and charged but are out on bail or released during the trial before conviction, you could sell your firearms without issue. Then if you were convicted of a crime that required surrendering any/all firearms, you could say, "I have no firearms in my possession."

You being the figurative you, and not the OP personally.

Have a family member go with you to a FFL and sell/consign it there.

Thieves are the lowest form of life out there, except for liberal politicians, of course, but that's redundant.

            ^yup^

get it out of your name. You can transfer ownership to a spouse or child too.
