    Remington Made 1191

A friend just showed me a 1191 Amy made by Remington from his farther's collection. It is at 95% plus condition with Amy holster made by Sears. Just very minor holster marks on the bluing. Looks almost new inside and out. Doing some quick research, Remington only made 1191 back in WWI... Will try to take few pictures when I see my friend again.

What would this 1191 value at?

You mean 1911, not 1191. Are you sure it is a 1911, and not a 1911A1?

Remington did make some M1911s as you said. M1911A1s were made during World War II by Remington Rand, a different company than the Remington firearms company.

    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

      well it's probably a one of a kind.....never heard of 1191.........

the only thing i can think of from that time to compare it to would be a 1911 and originals can be sold upwards of $3k depending on the condition and the person buying it...

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

For the record the 1911 Remington made in WWII was not made by Remington Arms. It was made by Remington Rand a typewriter manufacturer. This however this does not mean it is is less collectible. In fact it is a very desirable one I would love to have one. Now just last year Remington arms produced it's first 1911. The R-1. Now do not get your hopes up. They will never be sold in Kalifornia with the current law prohibiting new models of guns being able to fire when the mag is removed from the firearm. Dang because I wish to own one of them. Ya see I love Remingtons. As to the value. If the numbers are all matching, I have seen them at gun shows ranging from $1400 to $2,000 and up. Placing it way over what I would pay for a 1911. I have seen slides alone with a price tag of $400 to $700.00

Thieves are the lowest form of life out there, except for liberal politicians, of course, but that's redundant.
