Someones eventually gonna get arrested re: disinformation at.... Ammo Bros.

    Ammo Bros Ontario.

I stopped by tonight for a few things, if they had em fine, if not I'd get them another time.

There was a really big guy/kid "fat" talking to what appreared to me as a first time AR purchaser.

The guy says to the customer something along the lines of...

AB "yea and in California you need a bullet button, we carry the raddlock but we are out of them right now"....

ME: (I'm staring at 3 in the case right next to him)

Customer: something to the effect of "what is that" or something...

AB " it's like the bullet button but it's two position, you install it in position one for transport... click, you put it in position two at the range and your all set"

Customer : "yea my friend says you have to have a 10rd mag in it for transport also"..

AB "yes and you can use 30rd mags if yoru featureless, which is this here" (shows guy a grip with the thing that blocks your thumb)

Customer "oh ok yea..." or something like that...

I couldn't believe he said that. I'm no rocket scientist but I'm pretty sure that the instructions say "position one for california" only, UNLESS your out of the PRK you can use "position two".

I had an uneasy feeling in my stomach considering the potential for someone getting arrested.

If your going to sell weapons that are questionable (or politically viewed as unnecessary)... you should at least make sure your customer base isn't going to get arrested by giving them good information.

Thank GOD for Riflegear, I don't think I can goto Ammo Bros (ontario) anymore... yes I did get some rails for my MOE guard but it was disheartening to hear bad info.

                Really?
I never have, if somebody is lying or is staring directly at their colon then it's time to intervene. Remember that we're fighting an uphill battle as it is and idiots who cannot fully understand the law and be able to convey that to the village idiot should let somebody else handle it.

I have been throw out of shops because I called them on their B.S. when they were lying to customers. You have to speak up, what if that was your brother or good friend who ends up with a felony because some he relied on some moron at a gun shop for info that ended up wrong.
Not saying every gun shop has legal experts but there should be somebody around who does know or is man enough to admit he doesn't and will look up the correct info.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

Some people here get upset when you try to tell people the right thing or explain that they might be doing something illegal even though you are just trying to keep someone out of trouble. You will then be told to mind your own business, take that for what its worth.

I would have called BS. I've gotten some real dirty looks from Gun Store Ninja Boy for calling BS. Sometimes i'll just bite my tongue and keep my mouth shut. But if i know it can get someone hurt or locked up i will speak up.

I was in one particular store one day listening to Gun Store Ninja Boy spouting off his usual FUD to a young couple about how a revolver was the safest and simpiliest home defense gun. I learned a long time ago if you have young children in the house a revolver isn't necessarily the right choice for a home defense gun. I couldn't hold it any longer "Do you have kids?" "Yes". "Then a revolver isn't necessarily the right choice for a home defense gun. If your young one ever gets a hold of it the first thing they're gonna do is sit down on the floor, place the gun between their legs barrel up and use both thumbs to push the trigger."

Gun Store Ninja Boy just kind of smiled sheepishly and said "Yeah that's true".

I haven't been back into that store. And thanks to Cal Guns i've found some real gun store to frequent.

My bed side gun is now either a GLOCK 23 or an XD40. When the grand kids spend the night it has a full magazine inserted with an empty chamber. None of them are old enough to have enough strength to work the slide.

And one of my friends wonders how I got in the habit of "telling people their business" in gun stores...

I know who you're talking about. I've had great customer service from everyone at that store but that guy. I was asking questions one time and wanted to buy ammo and he just walked off in the middle of a sentence when I was talking

I'd speak up, even if it gets you kicked out. We can't have people ruining responsible ownership for us.

My experience has been that the uneducated person being fed incorrect information from the sales person will tend to believe what the salesperson says over that which a customer might say. You would more than likely get a polite look from the customer and he would then return his attention to the "expert" behind the counter. I've learned to keep my mouth shut and mind my own business.

You should give them another chance. I've never had anything but positive experiences and good service from them.
