    Ammo Question

Alright with the 21st coming quick. I'm looking to buy 1000 rnds to shoot. I'm new to this and I'm having a hard time finding ammo for a decent price. What is a decent price to pay for 1000 rnds or 223/5.56 brass?

Have you checked the online aggregators like guns-deals.com and others? They may give you a glimpse of retail online pricing on various types of 223. Otherwise it depends. You are going to pay differently for xm193, wolf, or hornady tac. Of course there is a bubble too, and what you think is currently a "decent" price may not be what the market thinks for the convenience of retail shopping.

$300 is a decent price. You can find it slightly cheaper here and there. Rifle ammo isn't affected by the restrictions, even though some dealers are cutting off all sales. J&G is one that I believe is still shipping rifle ammo.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

          Try www.ammunitiontogo.com or www.luckygunner.com
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, in practice, there is.

I've not bought in a while, last time I'm into ar15 was 5 yrs ago, so everything below is 5yr old info.

My buy price is $.20/rnd, so 1000rnds = $200. This isn't a great price, but pretty good and seems like at least 1 online store is always offering at this price at any one time. Natzchess is my normal online store as they ship ast and answers phone calls quickly.

Wolf/steel cased ammo was significantly cheaper at $10/rnd, but I never shoot them.

ar15.com had ammo vendors list sorted by price.

So you may limit your shooting only at wet parts of the year if at all with SS109.

As for the guy who paid 20 cents a round, those were the good ole days, I don't even want to post what I was paying 10 years and over...It would make you want to cry.

OP remember quality affects price. Someone posted $300/1000 for quality FMJ is about right give or take $20. When price comparing, remember to take into consideration S&H. Some charge flat $7.95 while others are significantly more.
