If you pull a gun during a fistfight you're toast-you're going to do time-You cant meet less than deadly force with deadly force-So take your *** whoopin like a man-
If they use a deadly weapon against you-bury them-
Multiple assailants?-thats a sticky one-but you are likely to be charged-Comment

I am assuming this extends to your family in the case you are with them. For example, if I walk into a room and a guy has a gun pointed to my wife saying, "You're going to die #$%#$."I highly recommend everyone read the Judicial Council of California Criminal Jury Instructions (PDF, 7.3MB). Jump to page 235. It describes how the judge is going to instruct your jury if you're on trial for homicide and you argue self-defense. Here's an excerpt:

I AM NOT A LAWYER. This is not legal advice. Always seek legal advice from a lawyer.
This is a no brainer to me. However, with all the laws.....I'm not even sure about that anymore.
Edit: Nevermind, I just read the "someone" else part. Phew.Last edited by adrenaline; 01-12-2011, 7:55 AM.

use lethal force when lethal force is brought against you. all other times, attempt to use non-lethal force.

Only in a true life endangered situation. Best to just walk or run away if at all possible. If you have to pull the trigger Ca. has alot of negative laws that could cost you your freedom, and lots of money. Its a shame, just the way it is.LIFE IS SHORT,DEATH IS FOREVER,SO RELAX AND ENJOY THE RIDE!Comment

Had many more converstions with Leo and other people in the gun industry. They say a responsible person should not have problems with the law if a gun is fired when needed, but going to court and paying fees(lawyer, court fees, parking fees) are a PITA, So avoid unfire at all means possible.sigpic

In looking at these posts, makes me really wonder. I am a guy closer to 70 than 60 years old, and am a 100% disabled Vet (due to Agent Orange, strokes and otherwise) can not lift 50 pounds and carry it. So, a fist fight or wrestling match is no option for me.
Living in Calif.
So, as the saying goes, "am too old to take a good *** whipping and too young to die" so will just have to do something.
So, what options do I have? Seems like getting crunched or killed or living with "bubba" in some hell prison is my choice.
Guess, I might have to take my chances with a jury. Though in Calif. what is wrong with that is "no small thing".
Any thoughts on what/how to deal with this?Last edited by A1BigTuna; 04-08-2011, 10:34 PM.Comment

.....The killing of one person by another may be justifiable when necessary to resist the attempt
to commit a forcible and life-threatening crime, provided that a reasonable person in the same or
similar situation would believe that (a) the person killed intended to commit a forcible and life-
threatening crime; (b) there was imminent danger of such crime being accomplished; and (c) the
person acted under the belief that such force was necessary to save himself or herself or another
from death or a forcible and life-threatening crime. Murder, mayhem, rape, and robbery are
examples of forcible and life-threatening crimes.....
