Whats Your Steel Target Preference?

Im almost certain that this is in the wrong forum, mainly because i picked it!!

Im getting the material stockpiled to make some steel targets and I dont have that much experience shooting steel because where im located most places do not allow it. I find myself wondering what type of steel targets the pros prefer to shoot,
spring deflection targets like the evil-roy

swinging targets

chain or strap targets

this one in particular looks like fun, but im not sure how i would make it brake down for transport
i think they all have advantages and disadvantages but i dont have much practical experience shooting these so im not sure which style would be best suited for production.

use A500 Plate or you will be going through a lot of steel. Distance should be 100yds min.

Yeah, I'm not even sure how it is even upright in that picture since the weight is all in the front. Must be cardboard targets

I'm getting a bunch of scrap steel and a shop that builds utility trucks and racks to make me some of the target in the last pic with the two plates....i have to figure out the dimensions for the stand. my guys carry some 1/2 steel so i'm going to try that out for a plate, but i dunno how long it will last compared to ar500 steel.

I love using old railroad tie plates for steel targets. When the railroad finishes track work, there's usually hundreds of these steel plates laying around. I always ask someone if they don't mind if I take a few and the answer is always yes as they are considered scrap at that point.

Anyhow, they are anywhere from 8-10" wide, 12-18" long, 1/2" to 3/4" thick and have holes already punched in them. I'll get some temporary steel fence post and dangle the plate between them with bailing wire or cheap chain. Paint it silver, red, white and go back about 100-300 yards. Instant gratification is had when they are hit.

Oh and another thing... When the plates get too full of holes and dents, I just scrap it and get another one.

Need to aware of the angle of the steel plated to prevent lead splatter, we don't shoot steel any closer that 10 yards...........
