    Benelli M4 shotgun cleaning question

    Do i need to remove the choke before running the wire cleaning rod through the barrel, not seeing any info in the manuel to say i should but i want to be sure.

      Your supposed to clean the Benelli M4?!?


      Ok, seriously, I remove the choke sometimes, but it's not necessary. If you do remove the choke, just watch that you don't scrape the threads too hard when cleaning as they are pretty fine, although the metal is probably tough enough to handle some abuse. I haven't ruined any choke threads on any of my shotguns yet, but I would hate to find out how much it would cost to repair if I did.
