It is not self sustaining, and can only maintain itself with constant growth. Obviously infinite growth is impossible, so the question is not whether the economy will collapse, but when.

Don't have anyhting to pull up but in October 1967 a radio station in Seattle Washignton used to play the "Good, Bad, and the Ugly" every morning at the 6am roll call and someone used to play it over North Fort at Fort Lewis around the C-3-2 area. Never saw the movie for almost ten years but never forgot the theme song.Comment
