I've heard that FN make good pistols, I have never fired any but I have fired plenty of springfield 1911s and I really like the ones I shot. Now if FN would make their own 1911s pistols.......

Many FN handguns are made in the USA, sadly most SA handguns are not.

I voted FN. I've been intrigued by their latest models and want to check them out sometime.

                  Where's the ubiquitous 'both' choice?

I'm likely to buy most anything ... unfortunately.

I've never even held a FN so I'm not really sure. I own an XD but I don't think I'll buy another one. If I'm in the market for a 1911 I would consider a Springfield.

Springfield has the advantage as they have the XD/M and 1911 lines whereas FN only has the FNP line...

+1, which makes it impossible for me to answer.

If my local gun shop were to tell me "We are ONLY going to carry FN or SF, which do you want?", I'd have to go with SF due to the variety of available models.

Now, if he also carried S&W, Colt, Ruger, HK, KelTec, and HiPoint and were simply considering adding another line, I'd be more inclined to recommend FN.

The purpose of this question was to find what manufacturer had the most interest amoung customers. We are planning to purchase a "Stocking Deal" and FN and SA offers a large inventory for a reduced sum. I was wondering which had a larger following, so which would sell quicker.

SA, if we're talking about 1911s.

Don't care about XD. There are already GLOCKs and M&Ps.
