    CCW Carry at Gun Shows

Can anyone tell me if it is allowed to carry ccw at Ca. gun shows. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Another thread on this r/t UOC.

I think "no" due to PC 12071.4(g).
(g)No person at a gun show or event, other than security personnel or sworn peace officers, shall possess at the same time both a firearm and ammunition that is designed to be fired in the firearm. Vendors having those items at the show for sale or exhibition are exempt from this prohibition.

Can I carry my ccw gun on me but leave the loaded mag in the car(not wanting to leave gun in car incase someone would break into car).

if you didn't have the ammo for it, what law would you be breaking if you CCWed at a gunshow with a valid CCW permit?

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Most shows have a sign posted at the entrance that says no guns unless for sale. If you look like you have one on you, even if hidden, they will wand you or frisk.

So I can CCW virtually anywhere in the state, but I can't carry concealed to a gun show? WTF? That is ridiculous. Where is the logic in that?

Nobody ever said the laws in CA were logical...

Good heavens, no! Trying to impose something logical about guns on gun laws leads to madness.

View the gun laws instead as a way to get legislators re-elected by 'doing something' about 'something' that 'everybody knows' is a 'problem' and much of the cognitive dissonance goes away. The legislators are not insane, not stupid, and not uninformed about guns or the probable effects of laws they propose -- lots of people tell them, in no uncertain terms. They just don't care.

If you try to apply logic to CA gun laws it will only make your head hurt.

Then thats what you do. Leave ammo and mag in the car. Take pistol into show in a small duffle bag. You will need the bag for shopping anyways. Declare your handgun at the door. They will clear the handgun and put a plastic tie through the chamber and grip with the slide locked back and they might put a small colored sticker on it. Thats it! you got your handgun with you and your legal.....
