    Gun broker $1 fee BS?

    https://www.gunbroker.com/MySite/MyA...dFileForm.aspx

    FAQ 1106: Our Mailing Address
    GunBroker.com, LLC
    PO Box 2511
    Kennesaw, GA 30156

We are unable to close the account until all balances are current.

So not sure what they're gonna do to get that $1. Never used that stupid account and never visited that stupid site again, but apparently I might be reported to the credit bureaus.

    This is normal

How else would they know who you are? With a Credit or Debit card in your name this $1 charge proves you are good.

Paypal, Gun Pal, all other online sites do the exact same thing.

Pay it and keep the account open.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they credit you after your first sale or something like that.

            Gunbroker Rocks
I've bought more guns and ammo on there than I can count.

If you think the dollar is steep then you are probably right in cancelling the account. It can get expensive real fast. It is addicting too-
If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.

Nah, I get the verification part, I get offended about them sending me a bill for a buck when I abandoned the account opening process and asked them to close that account. Paypal deposits a buck into your account, not takes it.

for better or worse... i've got some great deals from Gunbroker; several guns and loads of accessories. i've also made some very good contacts from out of state sellers that i have bought from numerous times. i have never had a bad experience on any transactions with Gunbroker vendors from the auction site.

i understand the principle of the matter here... but sometimes we bite off our nose to save our face. reconsider your decision.

whatever your decision is... welcome to the forum.

If you are a legitimate seller then you should be happy that they are verifying you. If you are up to no good then its a step they must take. Its only a buck and they credit your account back when you get verified. Not sure I see where the complaint is?

Every month they send me a statement letting me know my dollar is safe.

You get the dollar back once you're verified.

You get the dollar back as a credit. If you never incur any fees with them, you never use up your credit. They keep your actual dollar.

I have $.75 left in credit with them.

It's not about the money, it's the manner in which they handle it. They're cramming it down your throat without being clear about it. And what is the big deal with canceling the account of some one who does not want it and has never used your services? Why must you STILL insist that they pay the $1? They FOR SURE didn't verify anything, I gave them nothing to verify, so why do I owe them anything? That's the problem.

Any way this isn't going anywhere, just a little weirdness in the gun world, please close thread.

I get my monthly bill, well, every month. And it shows me a $.75 credit. I used up $.25 in a sale already.
