With the numerous restrictions created by AB962 does anyone know how it will impact private sales on ammo such as WTS in the Calguns list?

Delivery must be face to face, with the buyer providing ID.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good! -
Someone in NV should build a munitions factory for handgun ammo. There is a lot of open space to build one. Name it 'Golden State Ammo' as a thumb in the eye of Sacramento politicians. Have two factory outlets, no middlemen. One in the south of NV and one in the north. Sell bulk handgun ammo. I bet they would make $$$$ from thousands of CA gun owners driving over for the day to score.Comment

They could build a road straight to their front door from California, perhaps right off the 15 freeway and call is 15 S&W, or 15MM freeway.Last edited by PBRStreetgang; 01-07-2011, 4:47 PM."Gentlemen, you will permit me to put on my spectacles, for I have not only grown gray but almost blind in the service of my country." You know someone is already thinking on how to capitalize on this.Comment

So, if I sell ammo to my neighbor, they have to show me their ID and I do what with it? Make a mental note?Delivery must be face to face, with the buyer providing ID.

Yeah, I know a couple people who are thinking the same thing. Thing is if you decide to pursue this you could be accused of dealing without a license or something. Yeah, there is no limit on what you can do as a private seller as far as I know. If you decide to start up a website or whatever advertising ammo for sale on a continuous basis as a private seller you are skating a fine line. LE can get you for being an unlicensed business, tax evasion if you don't properly claim things or possibly selling to a felon. So what if I see somebodies Id during a transaction..what's that going to accomplish? It's not like it says felon on it...
I'd hate to be the person who got caught on some Dateline NBC type thing..
Wanted to add..I wasn't implying that is what you were going to do, just wanted to point out that scenario.Last edited by norcal77; 01-08-2011, 2:57 AM.NRA Lifetime member

The law doesn't say you have to run a BG check on who buys ammo. The biggest issue would be getting a business license, especially if you're trying to sell ammo out of your home.Yeah, I know a couple people who are thinking the same thing. It will affect private sales. Aside from everything else, most people either don't know the laws, or worse, get their info from gun stores. I'm sure that by now most of you have heard a gun store employee claiming that AB962 prohibits private sales completely. So, it will cut the number of private sales through FUD alone. It will also cut the private sales by mail, too. You're lucky if you live in an area packed with people (and potential sellers). If not, well...DiaHero Foundation - helping people manage diabetes.
