To buy a long arm do you need current adress on you id or can you use 2 forms of current adress such as phone / cable bills?

If the address is not current on your DL, the Federal requirement says you must show a government issued document with your name and current address on it. Cable/phone bills are not government issued usually.

Since the telephone and electric bills are not in my name, I was able to use my bank statements from 3 months prior, which include my name and adress of course.

As long as the registration is:

Current (which you said it was)
your name is on it
your address on the registration matches the 4473

The bank statement, or non-gov utility bill only works as a second form of POR, you need at least one .gov document with current address on it for long gun (at least this is what I was told)
