I just got a small gun safe. It's made by Stack On and it works like it should. However, I noticed that after leaving my gun and ammo in there, it gets cold. The gun and ammo itself is cold when you touch it. Is this bad for the gun or the ammo? If so, what should I do? I don't live in a super cold weather climate, I would say my room is usually around 50-65 degrees Fahrenheit.

get a gun safe humidifier, if you don't have room for that or a plug make sure you get a product like, bull frog emitter strip:

You live in a meat locker? Just kidding...how small of a safe is it? Depending on size, you can use one of these GoldenRod, and for the really small ones, a 7 watt night-light bulb works well. The cold doesn't necessarily mandate you use one of these...but you could wind up with condensation inside...and over time that can be a problem.I just got a small gun safe. 13-3/16" W (35cm), 9-13/16" D (25cm), 9-13/16" H (25cm) Got these measurements from the manufacture's website. Looks like the smallest goldenrod is 12 inches. That should work with my safe. I assume there's a cord to plug into the wall? How would the cord go through the safe?Comment

Cold wont harm the guns but moisture will. You will get moisture if lets say the room is 50 degrees. You then crank the heater up to 70 degrees and the temp in the safe has to change fast. the change in temp creates moisture and has no place to get out. A safe that small I would recommend just getting a desecant for it. I hear the ones you can recharge in the oven work pretty good. I use the disposable type you get from Walmart. After about two months, you wont belive how much water it collects. About a cup full. No in not a scientist.
