So my 229 has been in the pd property room for about 3 years now, the lady that use to work there was a complete a hole to put it nice. She wouldnt tell me if my gun was still there so i basicly took it has a loss, then about a month ago recieved a letter from the pd saing i had a gun there. So i sent in my app to the doj and got my response today on New Years Eve stating i am eligable to own firearms. What a great late x mas gift!!! Also got a taurus pt92 in ss/gold now i know im able to put it in my name also!!! I am so happy just thought id share!!!

I am curious about this because my gfs dad had his M1 Carbine and his two colt 1911's taken because of domestic voilence. Since he will never be able to legally own firearms again I wonder how his now ex wife or daughter could go about getting them.

That might be a tuff one. I just picked mine up today and my dad has to pick the other one up because it was in his name, they seem to be real strict on the gun only being released to the registered owner. Maybe look in to a transfer. Theres probly some one on here that would know more, just ask around and good luck!
