    sebo,

It's a small firing indoor range n an industrial area if my memory serves me correctly. I much prefer an out-door range myself. You can rent gun there last I was shooting but it was a long time ago when gun stores were abound in the valley. Now that LA county pushed them all away usually I stay away from the valley now. Since your driving from Ventura County you might consider driving further and head to Angeles. This is a real shooting range for real shooters and is very family oriented.

Its a nice little range with about 15 stations. They only allow FMJ ammo for handguns and I think shotguns are allowed. They are also strict on 1 round fired per second (no rapid fire). The employees that work there are for the most part good people and not rude.

Are you bringing your pistol caliber guns or are you a new shooter?

The Burbank one ROCKS! Good people. Just read their range rules on their site, same rules goes for Northridge and Huntington Beach. If you have any other concerns, give them a call. I'd recommend signing up for membership.

When i was at the northridge firing line yesterday they said its illegal tp field strip your gun at the range, anyone know if its true? Sounds like FUD to me.

              No shotguns.
              FMJ or Lead Cast only.
No rapid fire (1 second rule)
I'd suggest you go to Oaktree... they have rentals and coupons that are good till March. It'll end up being cheaper than Firingline or Angeles.

They don't want you disassembling your guns.

They allow shotguns, birdshot only though....

Depending on whose working the range and how busy it is I've managed to go faster than the 1 shot rule quite a few times there. I guess being personable helps.

The major bonus for me is I live maybe a 1/4 mile away, its right down the street. Plus there are always nice people to meet there. The other day a gentleman named David let me dad and myself have a go at his Desert Eagle in 44. I've also gotten to shoot another member's S&W 460 there. Its nice being able to go to a range where you can chat it up with strangers and share guns.

Yeah some of the guys are friendly enough to let you try out some of their guns. The whole disassembly rule might be true, i know that they say that you're not allowed to clean your guns over there, but i've seen people do it anyway. It depends on who's there at the time and how well you know them. Spent a good 3 months shooting my pellet gun over there till the manager actually saw what i was shooting to tell me it's not allowed(i'm broke, and it never said anything about this on their rule list)

Agreed, the reason I go to BLM or other ranges almost always. Too many rules on the ammo restrictions. Torrance sharpshooters has it's flaws but allows all type of legal bullet configurations and steel and aluminium case ammo, a big plus. Strangely they allow buckshot and slugs but not birdshot out of shotguns.

LAX and especially Sharpshooters are extremely restrictive with allowing centerfire rifle cartridges,ON Target not so much when you take their class but no shotguns at all allowed.

Bought my first handgun there. Sadly, they don't sell anymore. Nice people. Took my wife there for the NRA course- which I would recommend to anyone who is a first time shooter.
