Gun sale

Hello all,

I'm looking to sell one of my handguns, but I've never done it before and I'd like a little guidance.

I'd like to sell it to someone local to me, but if it has to be another part of the state, I will.

What is involved in the process (local or across the state)?

List what you have, what you want for it, post pictures and give your location for a PPT. That's about it.

Oh, and list the weapons round count/condition if possible.

You need to first find a buyer. After that the two of you need to meet somewhere to do the transfer using a licensed firearms dealer or FFL such as a gunshop like Turners. Don't know if Big5 does them. Bring all your paperwork for proof of residency and also an acceptable proof of identification. You or the buyer (usually the buyer), but depends on the deal you make, need to pay the dealer a fee to transfer ownership of the gun by doing a DROS from you to the buyer. The fee should not exceed $35.

After you fill out your end of the paperwork and the fees are paid, the buyer waits the 10 days for the gun. It's up to you if you want payment for the gun before or after the paperwork is complete.
