I was told yesterday that this trigger lock is not ca approved. Is this true? If so why is this not an acceptable trigger lock for a gun in your home.

True. See here: http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/fsdcertlist.php
It's not acceptable because the state hasn't approved it. Masterlock may not have submitted it for approval or they did and it wasn't approved.Last edited by halifax; 12-22-2010, 10:40 AM.Jim

Effective January 1, 2002, no firearm may be sold, transferred, or manufactured within California unless that firearm is accompanied by a DOJ-approved firearms safety device (California Penal Code section 12087, et seq).
Ok I didn't get the lock with the purchase of a gun. I bought the lock to secure a gun in my home.
I purchased the lock at a gun store in CA. Is the lock legal to use at my house?sigpicComment

The gun store should not have been offering non-approved locks for sale however.Jim
