could someone help me identify this holster?

I picked this up for a friend for Christmas and i was wondering what it was. the sticker in the surplus store said 1951 German Holster, but I couldn't find anything about it online and I was wondering if anyone here could shed some light. it'd be greatly appreciated

also mods if this is in the wrong section i apologize, feel free to move it to the appropriate section.

I don't know. I'm assuming a luger or walther. I picked up because my friend's airsoft kit is an STG44 and Luger lol, and the luger seems to fit in there pretty nicely. I wish I'd taken more pictures before he headed home for winter break.

if you open the two flaps, theres pouches for carrying pretty much whatever and it has what look to be shotgun shell holders. it also came with a leather lanyard and strap for whatever sidearm its supposed to carry

it doesnt look 'similar'. it looks exactly like the flare gun holster.
